Quick Feature: RocknReuben at Southern Market

It’s Fall 2024 Lancaster City Restaurant Week Monday, Sept. 9 – Sunday, Sept. 15!

It’s important to support our local culinary community and we’re excited to feature over 40 great restaurants in the City of Lancaster with a variety of specials.

One of the new restaurants that recently opened and is making their first appearance in a Lancaster City Restaurant Week is RocknReuben at Southern Market Lancaster!

I’ve been really wanting to try this spot ever since I saw it was opening, and gladly made it my Wednesday lunch plan.

I was excited to try one of their delicious reuben sandwiches—especially since their Restaurant Week special features a FREE freshly-baked black-and-white cookie with each reuben purchased.

The reuben was absolutely amazing and was packed with flavor. It had a stack of meat, sauerkraut, cheese, and sauce grilled to perfection. Served with a side of chips and a pickle, the meal was a delicious representation of the classic New York staple, right here in the City of Lancaster.

The owner, David Davis, was eager to share his enthusiasm for the RocknReuben stand at Southern Market and it was great to chat with him about his incredible new spot adding a unique flavor destination just a block away from the Lancaster Marriott & Convention Center and easy-access parking garages nearby.

One really interesting addition was Davis gave me a Dr. Brown’s Cel-Ray soda, a popular choice for long-time New Yorkers looking to pair their deli finds with a beverage to match.

It’s a herbaceous, sweet, and refreshing soda that pairs perfectly with the salt & savory flavor of the reuben. It’s definitely something you need to add to your experience at RocknReuben!

RocknReuben is one of 12 unique chef stations in Southern Market, each with their own individual menu, cuisine, and ownership.

I highly recommend stopping by RocknReuben during Restaurant Week (and beyond) to experience an incredible, authentic reuben (and fantastic homemade black-and-white cookie for dessert)!

Hours are Weds/Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday/Saturday 11am-9pm, and Sunday 11am-6pm. It’s located at 100 S Queen St, Lancaster, PA.
