Visit Lancaster City Dines Around: Our Town Brewery

Let’s kick off Lancaster City Restaurant Week Fall 2020! This season of Restaurant Week couldn’t be more important. Our local restaurants need our support to weather the economic hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Order takeout, dine-out, or cater a meal for your family or office to help out our fabulous restaurants!

Every spring and fall, Lancaster City Restaurant Week highlights the diverse and very delicious dining scene Lancaster City has to offer. Wyatt Behringer, Marketing Manager for Visit Lancaster City, is back with another installment of “Visit Lancaster City Dines Around!”

Wyatt’s first stop of Lancaster City Restaurant Week Fall 2020 was the newly opened Our Town Brewery, located at 252 N. Prince St. The start of Lancaster City Restaurant Week occurred on the same day as their grand opening! The new space is a wonderful addition to the dining and brewing scene in Lancaster City and the newly renovated building brightens up the corner of Walnut and Prince Streets. Go check it out!

When out for Restaurant Week, look for the QR code menus!

Rob Tarves and Rob Patz vision of opening a brewery began while the two explored homebrewing at Penn State. Fast forward to today and they’ve created an expansive new space, new beer operation, and new dishes for Lancastrians to enjoy.

Wyatt was joined by longtime, Restaurant Week veteran, Anja Najera, to celebrate the opening of Our Town Brewery and the start of Lancaster City Restaurant Week. The two were in sync and ordered the exact same drinks and dishes.

First up to drink, the two sampled Our Town’s own brews, the “In the Shade,” a raspberry lemonade sour ale, and the “Porch Vibes,” a Hefeweizen. Naturally, the pair ordered a soft-pretzel to accompany the beverages. Be mindful that right now the State of P.A. mandates that alcohol must be ordered along with food.

Next, Wyatt and Anja ordered one of Our Town’s “Toasts” (think open-faced sandwich). They chose the Smoked Curry Chicken Salad with blueberries on toasted sourdough. Both gave it a great review and they’ll surely be back to sample more food and drink at Our Town!
